I quit
I know most of my friends think I quit blogging long time ago, and so they may get confused by that title, so let me explain...
Last Friday at work, I gave my two weeks notice. For years I have been supporting the web and database needs for a government task force which helps fight the war on drugs. This position has been challenging and during the last few years I have done everything from webmaster work, to database design & support, XML conversions, programming and customizing Sharepoint. During the last phase I was fortunate enough to be nominated as a Sharepoint MVP twice, and had my staff grow to support the command needs.
Over the last few months I have been technical lead on a project to install WebTAS. This software has the power to transform data and help connect the dots, not only that but it can actually connect the dots for you & alert users to take action. I believe in this product so much that I quit my job as a government civilian and took a job with Intelligent Software Solutions. I haven't even started yet and already I feel right at home because many on their employees are former linguists like myself.
Time to just off the old Java books, and put my .Net books on the shelf. Hold on were shifting gears and as always its going to be a wild ride.
